Realistic Capabilities of Firearms

Date:
Sunday, February 20, 2005

Often Hollywood, television, and books are less than realistic in their portrayal of the capabilities of firearms.  Many people believe that what they see on the silver screen is possible.

Small arms cannot shoot through bricks or cement and conventional lead bullets don't cause vehicles to explode in a bright ball of flame.

Hollywood, and movie makers use special effects and have a goal of exciting, and thrilling their audiences. Journalists have a responsibility to the truth.

The National Firearms Association would be more than pleased to help you make sure your article, screen play or book is accurate.

In historical writing, or novels, making sure that the firearms are period correct can make a very important difference in the professionalism of your writing.

In crime reports in news stories, proper names and types of firearms used in your reporting is vital in ensuring that your article is accurate. Inaccuracies, in the type of firearm, or the capabilities of a firearm used in a crime can bring your entire story into question.

Call (780) 439-1394 or email Canada' National Firearms Association and we will answer your questions with factual information.
