  • Unpublished Lott-Mauser Letter

Despite spending a whooping $2.7 billion on creating and running a long gun registry, Canadians still have not reaped any benefits.  Even though the registry started registering long guns in 1998, it has yet to solve one single murder. Instead it has been an enormous waste of police officers' time, diverting their efforts from patrolling Canadian streets and doing traditional policing activities. As parliament debates whether to eliminate...

The National Firearms Association is Canada's leader in the quest for fair and practical firearm and property rights legislation. While working for practical laws across Canada, your Association provides access to legal assistance for the defense of the rights of Canadians. In the specific area of "improper storage" charges, in three out of four cases with National Firearms Association help, the Crown drops all charges before the case gets to court. 85% of cases that do go to court are won with the assistance and advice of the National Firearms Association. Frankly put, with National Firearms Association help, many times charges are simply dropped. Members of other Canadian firearms groups often call the National Firearms Association when they require legal information and assistance. And guess what? We help them!

Welcome to the National Firearms Association

The National Firearms Association of Canada works for and with Canadian gun owners. The NFA keeps gun owners informed about current and pending legislation including Canada’s ever changing gun registration program. This ensures that gun owners know their rights under Canadian law.

The NFA provides a forum for Canadian firearms enthusiasts to discuss and unite their views on legislation. By presenting a cohesive position the NFA can more effectively lobby the Government of Canada for legislation that reflects the needs of Canadian gun owners while promoting firearms safety for the Canadian public.

The National Firearms Association of Canada provides a comprehensive list of resources for Canadian gun owners including applicable acts and regulations, legal issues, resources for lawyers, journalists, writers and firearms enthusiasts and more.

Through speeches, presentations and political action the NFA informs and represents gun owners in Canada. The Canadian Firearms Journal magazine features articles about firearms safety, firearms maintenance, women’s protection, shooting and hunting events etc.
